Cancellations & Refunds

 

Canberra Glee Club programs are delivered as structured group experiences.

Enrolments secure a place within a fixed cohort and enable forward planning for staffing, venues, licensing, and resources. As such, the following policy applies.

 

1. Missed Sessions

No refunds, credits, or make-up sessions are provided for missed classes, rehearsals, or workshops for any reason, including but not limited to: illness or injury; school, work, or family commitments; public holidays; or scheduling conflicts. Canberra Glee Club does not offer private make-ups or alternative sessions for missed group activities. Canberra Glee Club may provide videos of missed sessions where it has capacity to do so.

 

2. Participant-Initiated Cancellation

Participants may cancel their enrolment with a minimum of 14 days’ written notice prior to the next scheduled session. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email to info@canberravocaldevelopment.com.au. Where valid notice is provided, fees already paid beyond the notice period will be refunded or credited at Canberra Glee Club’s discretion. Fees covering sessions within the 14-day notice period remain payable and are non-refundable.

 

3. Late Cancellations & Withdrawals

Cancellations made with less than 14 days’ notice are not eligible for refunds or credits. Participants who withdraw partway through a program remain liable for fees incurred up to the effective cancellation date.

 

4. Canberra Glee Club-Initiated Changes

In the unlikely event Canberra Glee Club cancels a session or program. a make-up session, credit, or refund will be offered at Canberra Glee Club’s discretion. Canberra Glee Club reserves the right to adjust schedules, venues, or teaching staff where operationally required.

 

5. Acceptance of Policy

Enrolment in any Canberra Glee Club program constitutes acceptance of this Cancellation & Refund Policy. This policy applies consistently across all programs, workshops, and ensembles unless otherwise stated in writing.
 

6. Use of Media Containing Relating to Participants

Canberra Glee Club may take and use photographs, video recordings and/or audio recordings of participants during classes, rehearsals, performances and events for promotional, educational and marketing purposes.

This may include use on Canberra Glee Club’s website, social media pages, newsletters, printed materials, advertisements and other promotional platforms connected with businesses under Canberra Glee Pty Ltd.

By enrolling in or participating in Canberra Glee Club activities, you acknowledge and agree that such media may be captured and used as described above.

Canberra Glee Club will take reasonable care to use all media respectfully and appropriately. Participants’ full names will not be published alongside images or videos unless separate permission has been obtained.

If you do not wish for you or your child to appear in photographs, videos or audio recordings, you must notify Canberra Glee Club in writing. Canberra Glee Club will take reasonable steps to avoid capturing or using identifiable images of the participant, or to blur, crop out, obscure or otherwise de-identify them where practicable.

Please note that withdrawal or refusal of consent applies to future use only and may not apply to materials already published, printed or distributed.

7. Medical and Special Needs Disclosure
Participants must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, disabilities, or special needs relevant to the Student's participation in lessons at the time of enrolment or as soon as the condition is known.

Canberra Glee Club will not be held liable for any issues, injuries, or complications that arise from undisclosed medical or special needs.

8. Etiquette
Students should bring a water bottle, sheet music, lead sheet and required materials.

Food, gum, pets (except assistance animals), and smoking are not allowed in the building.

Canberra Glee Club is not responsible for lost valuables. Phones should remain  on silent.

Students displaying illness symptoms must not attend lessons in person; the teacher has discretion to refuse attendance.

Students must behave respectfully. Persistent inappropriate behaviour may result in being sent home or termination of enrolment.

Communal areas should be kept tidy

Parents or caregivers may remain during session if required.

1Any damage to Canberra Glee Club or Scout Hall property caused by the participant or their friends or family must be paid by the responsible account holder.

9. Indemnity
Participants, attendees and relevant account holders agree to indemnify Canberra Glee Club from all liabilities resulting from participation in Canberra Glee Pty Ltd events.

10. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by ACT law and the ACT courts.
